Last weekend I had the privilege of going to IMATS in NYC
with my good friend Jess who’s also a MUA (pictured below). It was my first
year going and it was amazing!! If IMATS is near one of the major cities by
you, I definitely recommend that you attend.
There were so many vendors such as Inglot, NYX, Obsessive Compulsive,
Alcone, Crown Brushes, Temptu and many more!! It was a makeup lover’s dream to
have all these vendors together in one place. Everyone was so friendly from
those that worked at the different booths to the people who are lovers of the
art that walked around. Here’s a pic of a few goodies that I picked up while I was
there like my Inglot palette, to some awesome lip colors from Obsessive Compulsive to NYX.
One of the best parts of the event was the workshops that
went on. I missed the Kandee Johnson workshop on Saturday that I really wanted
to go to, but maybe next year. The workshop that I attended that completely blew
my mind was that of the infamous Kabuki. If you don’t know who he is, you have been
living under a rock. He’s done makeup to such artists as Katy Perry, Rihanna,
the late Michael Jackson and many more. It was awesome to see him and his assistant
at work and create this beautiful outcome. I would love to get to his level one
day!!
Kabuki was wearing knee pads and said working on his knees helped ease the pain on his back from always hunching over.

Showing us a sketch of what he had envisioned to do for us that day.
The beautiful final masterpiece and yes those are Swarovski crystals on her face. I also had the chance to meet The Queen of Blending and the beautiful ladies of Sugarpill.

This is definitely an event I will try to go to every
year!! It was a blessing to meet such amazing, beautiful, talented people and having the opportunity to go. I hope you all get the chance to go to IMATS at least once. That is all for tonight. Be blessed!!
